For the Chicken Patties:
- 1 pound (450g) chicken slice (boneless/ thigh/ breasts)
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil (for cooking)
For the Burgers:
- Burger buns (according to you)
- Lettuce leaves/ cabbage leaves
- Sliced tomatoes
- Sliced big size onions
- Avocado slices (optional)
- Cheese slices (optional)
- Condiments of your choice (ketchup, mayonnaise, etc.)
Instructions:
Prepare the Chicken Patties:
- Take chicken and cut into required size as per your buns, then clean it clearly.
- Now take buttermilk in a mixing bowl and add spices like (black pepper powder, cinnamon powder), salt and mix them properly, then add the sliced chicken pieces to it and combine it with the mixture, let it rest for sometime.
- Take two mixing bowl, take flour, spices, red chili, salt, and water in one bowl and make a thick mixture.
- In another one bowl take egg and beat it well, keep it aside.
- Take bread crumbs in another flat bowl.
Cook the Chicken Patties:
- Now take out the chicken pieces from the butter milk, let it drain properly, then coat it to flour mixture, then into beaten egg.
- Then coat it on bread crumbs, and coat it from every side so that the bread crumbs stick to the chicken perfectly.
- Now place it to a clean plate and repeat the same process with the left over chicken pieces and rest it for 5 to 10 minute to set well.
- Till the chicken taking rest in between heat the oil in a frying pan over high flame, when the oil is heat enough add the chicken pieces carefully. While putting the chicken in the oil, make sure that the oil do not splash on you.
- After put the chicken into oil, turn the flame to low to cook it hard and crispy.
- Transfer them in to a plate and repeat and fry the rest chicken pieces.
- Once all pieces cooked, transfer the chicken patties to a plate and let them rest for few minutes before adding to the burgers.
Assemble the Chicken Burgers:
- While the chicken patties are resting, slice the burger bun and lightly toast the buns on the grill or in a toaster.
- Place the fried chicken patty on the bottom half of the toasted bun.
- Add the toppings, as per your need like lettuce, cabbage slice, sliced tomatoes, onions, avocado (optional), and cheese one over the other.
- Finish it with your favorite sauces, like ketchup, mustard sauce, mayonnaise or tandoori mayonnaise.
- Place the other half of the toasted bun and press gently to secure everything in place.
