                  About Parsi Chicken Fried

Parsi Chicken Fried is a delicious dish which is originated from the Parsi community in India. Basically this dish is boneless chicken or chicken leg pieces marinated with a flavorful blend of spices and fried till crispy and golden brown in color, which gives us a crispy exterior and juicy from inside taste. The marination is typically includes spices like ginger and garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, salt, and lemon juice for add tanginess to the Parsi Chicken Fried.

After marination, the chicken is coat with beaten egg, and mixture of flour (maida or cornflour) or breadcrumbs to give chicken that crunchy exterior when fried. This is one of my favorite dish with full of flavor and perfect dish for your special occasion. So let’s start the recipe,

Ingredients of Parsi Chicken Fried:

  1.  500 grams boneless chicken, or chicken leg pieces
  2.  2 tablespoons ginger-garlic paste
  3.  1 tablespoon lemon juice
  4.  1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  5.  1 teaspoon red chili powder
  6.  1 teaspoon garam masala
  7.  1 teaspoon coriander powder
  8.  Salt to taste
  9.  1 cup all-purpose flour (maida)
  10.  1 cup bread crumbs
  11.  2 eggs, beaten
  12.  Oil for deep frying
  13.  Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions:

Marinating the Chicken:

Take a large mixing bowl, add ginger-garlic paste, lemon juice, turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala, coriander powder, and salt to taste. Mix everything well to make a smooth marinade.

Now add the chicken pieces to the marinade and coat chicken evenly. Cover the bowl and let it rest in refrigerator for at least 1 hour to the flavors to infuse.

Coating and Frying:

  1.  Spread all purpose flour (corn flour, or maida)and bread crumbs separately in two different shallow bowl.
  2.  In another bowl take 2/3 eggs, salt and whisk it well.
  3.  Take out the marinated chicken from the refrigerator and let it set to the room temperature for about 10 minutes.
  4.  For deep frying heat oil in a heavy bottomed pan or deep fryer on medium to high flame.
  5.  Take each marinated chicken piece and firstly dip it into the beaten eggs, make sure it’s well coated.
  6.  Next, roll the chicken piece in the corn flour or maida till it’s coated completely.
  7.  Dip the flour-coated chicken again into the beaten eggs and then roll it over the bread crumbs, pressing gently to stick everything.
  8.  Repeat the coating process for the remaining chicken pieces.

NOTE* Mix red chili powder and black pepper powder to the bread crumbs give a spicy taste to the Parsi fried chicken.

Frying the Chicken:

Garnishing and Serving:

Transfer the Parsi Chicken Fried to a serving platter and garnish them with fresh coriander leaves for a burst of color and flavor.
Now serve hot Parsi Chicken Fried with your favorite dipping sauce or chutney as per your taste accompaniment on the side.
